Our Team

Master Mark WalkerMaster Mark Walker is the Chief Instructor at Zen Dan Kwan School of Martial Arts. He is always referred to in the Dojang as "Master Walker", or more informally as "Sir". Master Walker currently holds a 6th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido and a 4th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He has devoted more than 45 years to his Martial Arts training, both as a student and as an Instructor. Master Walker is also the Chief Examiner for all Zen Dan Kwan Martial Arts Belt Exams. He has a keen interest in the progress of all students, and his teaching focus is on the Senior grades in both Adults and Kids classes.

 

Kyu Byu Nim Daniel CarrettMr Daniel Carrett is an Instructor here at Zen Dan Kwan School of Martial Arts. He is referred to in the School as ‘Mr Daniel’ or ‘Kyu Byu Nim Daniel.’ Mr Daniel currently holds a Second Degree Black Belt. Mr Daniel is a fully qualified school teacher and he coordinates both our After School Karate programme and our STORM Team. Mr Daniel is also involved in teaching the Dragons classes and the Junior grade Adults class.  Mr Daniel is particularly known for his skills with the weapons of Zen Dan Kwan, particularly the Dan Bong or short stick.

 

 

Kyu Byu Nim Robbie BishopMr Robbie Bishop is an Instructor here at Zen Dan Kwan School of Martial Arts. He is referred to in the School as 'Mr Robbie' or 'Kyu Byu Nim Robbie.' Mr Robbie currently holds a First Degree Black Belt and started training when he was 7 years old. Consequently, he is one of our longest training and most experienced Instructors. Mr Robbie is involved with teaching our youngest students and works extensively with our Pandas and Tigers. Mr Robbie is particularly well known for his advanced kicking skills.
